Key Benefits

Bone-Conduction Listening — Open-ear sound without sealing the ear canal.
Lightweight Fit — Approximately 26 g with a stable titanium wraparound frame.
Eight-Hour Battery — Up to 8 hours of music and calls per charge.
USB-C Model — North Sports S805 variant uses Type-C charging.
IP67 Protection — Designed to cope with sweat, rain and dust; not for swimming.

Shokz OpenRun is a lightweight bone-conduction headset for running, cycling and everyday movement. Its flexible titanium-based wraparound frame stays stable while leaving the ear canals uncovered, making it a comfortable alternative to conventional in-ear headphones. The North Sports version is the USB-C S805 model, rather than the older magnetic-charging S803.

Weighing approximately 26 g, OpenRun is easy to wear through longer training sessions. Bluetooth 5.1 pairs with compatible audio devices, while dual microphones support hands-free calls. Battery life reaches up to eight hours, with about 1.5 hours of listening from a ten-minute quick charge. Its IP67 rating covers dust and wet weather, but Shokz does not recommend swimming; dry the USB-C port before charging.

Suggested Use & Compatibility

A dependable sports headset for regular runners, road cyclists, gym users and commuters who value a lightweight, secure neckband and open ears. The Standard frame is generally better suited to larger ear-to-ear head measurements; Shokz also offers an OpenRun Mini with a rear band that is 21 mm shorter for smaller heads. You can wear OpenRun with many helmets and glasses, but check your own comfort and fit.

The stocked S805 version charges by USB-C, so order a suitable Type-C cable rather than the magnetic charging lead used by older S803 headphones. Pair by Bluetooth 5.1 with compatible smartphones, tablets or audio-capable sports watches. IP67 helps with sweat and wet-weather training but does not make the product suitable for swimming. Dry the headphones and charging port before charging, keep volume sensible and remain alert when cycling or crossing roads.

Why We Choose Shokz

We choose Shokz for its focus on comfortable open-ear audio that fits the way people move. Its range includes bone-conduction headsets such as OpenRun and OpenSwim, alongside open-ear air-conduction earbuds such as OpenFit and OpenDots. We value that choice of designs, from running and everyday listening to swimming-specific models, without treating every product as the same technology.

Two audio approaches — Shokz offers both bone-conduction headsets and open-ear air-conduction earbuds.
Thoughtful fit options — Wraparound bands, flexible earhooks and clip-on designs suit different preferences.
Built for different routines — Choose from models for running, commuting, everyday use and selected swimming activities.
Check model-specific features — Water resistance, battery life, calls and charging options vary across the range.
Open-ear responsibility — Keeping the ears unobstructed can support awareness, but never guarantees that hazards will be heard.
