The GoPro HERO is a small, straightforward action camera for recording the moments that make training and outdoor adventures memorable. Weighing just 86 g, it captures 4K video at 30 frames per second or 2.7K at 60 fps for 2× slow-motion playback, as well as 12 MP still photos. Its rear touchscreen makes framing and changing settings simple, while its built-in mounting fingers connect to compatible GoPro mounts.
The compact body is waterproof to 5 metres without an extra housing, making HERO a practical option for running, cycling, hiking and days by the water. Its Enduro-technology battery is built in rather than removable. For smooth results, HyperSmooth stabilisation is applied to suitable clips using the GoPro Quik app after recording; it is not an in-camera stabilisation setting on this model. HERO is the lightweight entry-level camera and should not be confused with the larger, higher-specification HERO13 Black.
