The Cateye ViZ 450 is a high-visibility rechargeable rear cycle light designed for commuters, road riders and cyclists training in busy traffic. Five red LEDs and OptiCube optics provide a broad 300-degree field of visibility, with up to 450 lumens in Daytime Hyperflash mode to help draw attention to the bike from behind and from the sides.
There are four modes to cover different riding situations: Constant, Flashing, Group Ride and Daytime Hyperflash. Group Ride uses a gentler pattern for cycling near others, while the brightest daytime setting is intended for conspicuity in traffic. Mode memory recalls your last setting, and a battery-saving function changes to flashing when the remaining charge gets low.
Cateye’s Snap System and SP-15 bracket make the light suitable for a range of round and aerodynamic seatposts. Manufacturer runtimes are approximately 5 hours in Constant mode, 65 hours Flashing and 14 hours Daytime Hyperflash. The compact body has an IPX4 splash-resistance rating and recharges from USB in about 3.5 hours. Cateye has produced original Micro-USB and revised USB-C versions, so check the supplied model before choosing a charging cable.
