The Cateye AMPP 800 is an 800-lumen rechargeable front bicycle light built for evening commutes, fitness rides and roads where a stronger beam is useful. Its single high-intensity white LED works with OptiCube optics to produce a wide spread of light, while prominent side visibility helps other road users spot the bike. The compact alloy-bodied unit mounts with Cateye’s adjustable FlexTight bracket.
Five lighting modes give a choice between brightness and runtime. High delivers 800 lumens for approximately 1.5 hours, Middle provides 400 lumens for two hours and Low supplies 200 lumens for four hours. Daytime HyperConstant lasts around five hours, while Flashing offers approximately 30 hours. Double-clicking the button selects High quickly, and mode memory returns to the last used setting. The three-colour battery indicator uses blue, yellow and red to show remaining capacity.
A built-in 3.7 V, 2500 mAh lithium-ion battery is recharged through Micro-USB, with a cable included in the manufacturer’s original package. Charging takes approximately three to seven hours depending on the USB source. The light weighs around 136 g and is IPX4-rated against rain and splashes. Optional helmet and centre-fork mounting accessories are available separately.
