Key Benefits

Clip-On Open-Ear Design — Sits around the outer ear without in-ear tips.
Ultra-Light Fit — Approximately 6.3 g per earbud.
Bassphere Sound — Custom 11.8 mm dual-driver audio for music and speech.
Nine Hours per Charge — Up to nine hours of listening from the earbuds.
IP55 Earbuds — Sweat and splash resistant; charging case stays dry.

Shokz OpenDots Air offers lightweight open-ear listening in a compact clip-on design for daily movement, commuting and calls. A flexible nickel-titanium JointArc connector rests around the outer ear without in-ear tips. Each earbud weighs approximately 6.3 g, and air-conduction speakers deliver audio without the wraparound band of traditional sports headphones.

Custom 11.8 mm dual drivers and Shokz app EQ settings shape the sound, while interchangeable left/right earbuds and pinch controls simplify everyday use. Bluetooth 6.1 supports compatible devices, and four microphones help improve call voice pickup. Playback reaches up to nine hours per charge or 36 hours including case top-ups. IP55 applies to the earbuds, not the case; the USB-C case does not support wireless charging.

Suggested Use & Compatibility

OpenDots Air is designed for everyday listening, commuting, walking, work calls, light workouts and travel. Clip the flexible JointArc around the outer ear with the speaker sitting near, but not inside, the ear canal. The earbuds can be worn on either side and will identify left/right placement automatically. Use the pinch controls or Shokz app to manage playback and EQ. Their open design may allow more ambient sound through, although you should still monitor traffic and other hazards carefully.

Pair over Bluetooth 6.1 with compatible smartphones, tablets and other supported audio devices. Expect up to nine hours from a single earbud charge, with the case extending total playback to up to 36 hours. The charging case uses USB-C only: there is no wireless charging and no charging cable included. The earbuds are rated IP55 for sweat and splashes, but the case is not waterproof and the product is not for swimming. OpenDots Air does not offer Dolby Audio or active noise cancellation for listening.

Why We Choose Shokz

We choose Shokz for its focus on comfortable open-ear audio that fits the way people move. Its range includes bone-conduction headsets such as OpenRun and OpenSwim, alongside open-ear air-conduction earbuds such as OpenFit and OpenDots. We value that choice of designs, from running and everyday listening to swimming-specific models, without treating every product as the same technology.

Two audio approaches — Shokz offers both bone-conduction headsets and open-ear air-conduction earbuds.
Thoughtful fit options — Wraparound bands, flexible earhooks and clip-on designs suit different preferences.
Built for different routines — Choose from models for running, commuting, everyday use and selected swimming activities.
Check model-specific features — Water resistance, battery life, calls and charging options vary across the range.
Open-ear responsibility — Keeping the ears unobstructed can support awareness, but never guarantees that hazards will be heard.
