The Cateye AMPP 400 and ViZ 150 light set gives commuters and leisure cyclists a matched rechargeable front and rear lighting package. The AMPP 400 headlight reaches 400 lumens through a wide OptiCube lens, with strong side visibility and a secure FlexTight handlebar bracket. At the rear, the compact ViZ 150 uses three red LEDs and a broad 300-degree field of visibility to help approaching road users notice the bicycle.

The front light has four settings: 400-lumen High for approximately two hours, 200-lumen Low for four hours, Daytime HyperConstant for six hours and Flashing for up to 60 hours. The rear light also has four modes, including a 150-lumen Daytime HyperFlash setting for around 15 hours and a 15-lumen Flashing mode for approximately 70 hours. Its lower-intensity Group Ride setting is useful when cycling close to others. Both lights offer mode memory, and the ViZ 150 can switch to flashing automatically as charge falls.

The AMPP 400 weighs approximately 117 g and uses a Micro-USB connection, while the rear ViZ 150 weighs around 27 g and attaches using Cateye’s SP-15 seatpost bracket and Snap System. Both units are IPX4 splash-resistant. The manufacturer’s original TL-LD800 rear light is Micro-USB rechargeable; newer revisions have a different charging connector, so check the actual supplied set before ordering replacement cables.

Suggested Use & Compatibility

A practical choice for commuting, town riding and regular fitness cycling. Fit the AMPP 400 to a compatible handlebar with its FlexTight bracket and position the rear ViZ 150 on a suitable seatpost using the SP-15 fitting. Check that the rear lamp remains visible around luggage and mudguards. Aim the front beam towards the road to avoid dazzling approaching traffic.

Plan charging around the front light’s two-hour High runtime, and use lower outputs when full brightness is unnecessary. The ViZ 150’s headline 150 lumens applies to Daytime HyperFlash rather than a steady setting; Group Ride is gentler for riders behind you. The original set uses Micro-USB, although later rear-light revisions may differ, so verify your supplied connector. Both lights tolerate rain and splashes but should not be submerged. Follow UK night-riding lighting and reflector requirements.
